Standard, zig-zag and zipper feet.
When learning how to sew, start with just three sewing machine feet. Together they can sew everything from cushions to clothes.
- A standard foot is for sewing straight stitch.
- A zig-zag foot is for sewing zig-zag stitch.
- A zipper foot is used for fitting zips.
Top tip: Your sewing machine may not come with a standard foot. Instead it may come fitted with a zig-zag foot, which can be used for both straight stitch and zig-zag stitch.
